Injury-Specific Deep Tissue: Cervical Spine, upper Thoracic & Chest - 16 Continuing Education Hours
This advanced clinical course is designed for massage therapists who want to confidently assess and treat complex neck and upper thoracic dysfunction.
The primary focus of this class is the cervical spine, with integrated work into the upper thoracic region and anterior chest to reduce strain patterns, decompress neural structures, and improve structural alignment.
*This is NOT a relaxation-based neck class.
This is a structured, clinically reasoned approach to treating cervical dysfunction safely and effectively.
Morning sessions focus on orthopedic assessment, anatomy, and instructor demonstration.
Afternoon sessions include immersive supervised 90-minute hands-on trades.
In This Course, You Will Learn:
• Common cervical and upper thoracic conditions
• Orthopedic assessment of the cervical spine
• Differentiating muscular vs neural presentations
• Detailed treatment protocols for neck pain patterns
• Assessment and treatment of anterior chest restrictions
• How thoracic positioning influences cervical strain

Cori Latimer, LMT, NCBTMB CE Provider– Instructor
Cori Latimer is a Licensed Massage Therapist with over 27 years of experience in the massage therapy profession, specializing in injury-specific therapeutic massage and the treatment of complex musculoskeletal conditions. Throughout his career he has worked with a wide range of clients including Olympians, professional and Hall-of-Fame athletes, post-surgical patients, and individuals managing chronic pain conditions, as well as public figures and world leaders. His experience across clinical settings, sports performance environments, luxury resorts, and private practice has given him a broad and practical understanding of how massage therapy can support both pain reduction and human performance.
Cori’s work focuses on injury-specific therapeutic massage, addressing a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions throughout the body. His clinical experience includes working with conditions such as sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee injuries, shoulder dysfunction, and chronic neck and back pain, as well as supporting recovery and maintenance for individuals following orthopedic surgeries including spinal fusions, knee replacements, hip replacements, and shoulder surgeries.
In addition to his clinical work, Cori spent over 10 years as an instructor at the Utah College of Massage Therapy, where he taught and mentored massage therapy students while helping develop strong foundations in anatomy, technique, and clinical reasoning.
Cori is the co-owner of Wayfaring Massage and Wellness in Rogersville, Tennessee, where he works with a diverse client base ranging from individuals seeking relaxation to those dealing with long-standing orthopedic issues.
He is also the founder of Wayfaring CE, a continuing education program designed to help massage therapists deepen their understanding of anatomy, clinical reasoning, and effective treatment strategies. His courses focus on practical skills therapists can immediately apply in their practice, including assessment methods, injury-specific treatment protocols, and strategies for building a sustainable and successful career in massage therapy.
Through his teaching, Cori aims to help therapists develop greater confidence, clinical insight, and long-term success in the profession.

Learn and experience a full-body sequence from the side-lying position. Great for pregnancy or for those who find it difficult to lie face down. This is an excellent approach to working the inside leg lines, spine, neck, and shoulders. In this course we will use our feet, knees and hands.

These courses are open to everyone! This is great for yoga teachers, doula's mid-wives or anyone interested in well-being, healing, and bodywork, however, no prior yoga or massage experience is necessary. Rogersville Heritage Days Festival
